all people. Achieving health equity requires valuing everyone equally with
focused and ongoing societal efforts to address avoidable inequalities,
historical and contemporary injustices, and the elimination of health and
healthcare disparities.
The University of South Carolina Health Equity Laboratory is committed to the development of a multidisciplinary health equity workforce that is trained to conduct research and clinical practice. The Health Equity Lab was developed as an opportunity to engage and enhance research opportunities for the next generation of researchers, practitioners, and leaders in eliminating health disparities. Launched in 2012, the USC Health Equity Lab provides laboratory training and substantive experiences in community participatory research, cancer behavioral risk reduction, and health promotion for undergraduate and graduate students interested in health disparities.
